His Plush Buddies

Monday, September 9, 2013

Happy Monday ya'll!

I worked on more pages this weekend for Tristan's scrapbook. This one features the little guy with his "plush buddies". He loves his stuffed animals.

He was not real happy in this photo though. It was his first photo shoot and he was not in a good mood. He kept flinching every time he heard the camera click. Poor thing! He pays close attention to sounds and movement. I hope he gets used to having his picture taken. I'm trying to get more pages done! (smile)

I layered loads of Basic Grey paper and embellies on this one. And check out that "Big Guy" brad. It's from GCD Studios.

I used Delightful Inspiration's fun sketch. I saw it on Julie and Debbie's blog and just had to play along. Single photo sketches are my fave.

I hope you have a happy week!

A Project for the Kiddos & A Winner

Thursday, August 1, 2013

Summer is still sizzling. I've got a fun indoor project for your kiddos today. It involves a bit of recycling too. All those brown paper bags that you have lying around will come in handy for this one.

Since I'm a teacher, I love to suggest fun activities that will help children retain their academic skills during the lazy days of summer. This project will serve as double duty for your children.

First, it will allow them to practice their handwriting. Secondly, it will allow them to unplug from electronic devices and send sweet handwritten note to friends and relatives living far away.

And here's a sweet thought...{I would imagine that every Nana & Papa would love to get a sweet note from the kiddos}.

GCD Studios "Special Delivery" collection is the perfect choice for this project. Just take a look at the smiling mailman on the paper. I just love that image. The text on the paperclip adds a great added touch too!

Keeping all of the notes, pencils, and envelopes in decorated paper bags will help your kiddos stay organized too.

Now for the SRM Stickers Giveaway Winner! I'm so sorry for the delay. I'm working an academic camp at school and the week has been hectic.

And the winner is....
Jessica

Baskets Full of Yum

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

When I'm having a family gathering out in the backyard, I grab some fun paper and make my own picnic décor. GCD Studios Special Delivery collection is super fun and festive to use for such an occasion.

I used  the Lifestyle Crafts  berry container die to make the paper baskets. I also added a "family" paper clip and "family time" sentiment to a lollipop stick.

I do have one quick tip to share. It's best to line your little baskets with a coffee filter before placing your food in them. This will keep your basket bright and fresh throughout the day.

I'm playing in a couple of challenges with this one...

{I was inspired by the outdoor party theme}

{I was inspired by the All-American red, white, and blue Converse}

And Rhonda is back in blog land!!!
I had to play along in her fun Summertime Challenge  :)

Have a Fun & Festive Day!

You Are My Happy

Sunday, June 23, 2013

Happy Sunday!

Did you know you can make a fun card using texture, dies, and acrylic

The combination of the three are my FAVE elements on a card.

I'm a texture kinda girl too. I had to add a bit of canvas to my card as well. The paper is from GCD Studios Pure Bliss collection. I also made my own handmade button using the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 Tool.

I used my handy dandy Lifestyle Crafts Dies & Evolution die cutter on the circle and square shapes. Elements of my card are made from acrylic from the Clear Scraps store. I had some extra pieces left from the 6" x 6" acrylic album. I used them to add reinforcement to the canvas piece.

I'm linking this creation up to three fun challenges. First, this one is perfect for the Let's Get Trendy Now 3 - "Textured Layered Challenge".

See ya back here tomorrow for more crafty fun!

Thrifty Gifting

Friday, May 24, 2013

Don't you just love when a gift can be made for under $10?

I call this one a "thrifty gifting project". My mom wanted a shadowbox frame for her office. I found this double framed one on the clearance aisle at Michael's.

And I'm so addicted to the Moxie Fab World challenges that I'm linking this one up to the 350 Cards & Gifts Week: The Gift Challenge.

I dressed it up with paper from the GCD Studios Indian Summer collection. I also added baby embellishments. My Lifestyle Crafts die-cuts came in handy too.

The gift was not complete until I added a cute photo of my nephew Tristan. He is modeling his new ducky hat. Love this circle sentiment too.

I hope you guys have a great Memorial Day weekend!

And by the way, I'm linking this one up to Moxie Fab World's 350 Cards & Gifts Week: The Gift Tag Challenge .

Many of you know that I love making gift tags. I like to think outside the box whenever I create one.

There is no need to just make traditional tags anymore.

Have fun and get creative with it.

This type of gift tag can be added to a box, bag, or even a yummy treat.

Oh and all of the goodies used to make it are from GCD Studios Special Delivery collection.

I used a couple of Lifestyle Crafts dies too.
