Golf Clubs and Neckties!

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

Hope you all had a Happy Memorial Day!

I'm back with a fun card for Dad!

This one is a CAS design. I kept the necktie and the golf clubs as the focal point. I'm entering this one in the latest CAS-ual Fridays Challenge. I used some of the fab Samantha Walker Designs paper from Creative Imaginations too!

There are only 3 more days of school left until I'm off for the summer!

Be sure to stay tuned for more fun projects & summer giveaways!

My Happy Number!

Thursday, May 24, 2012

This post is brought to you by...

The Number 5

I was born on the 5th of December and I am constantly making lists with only 5 things on it. I don't know why I have this obsession...but I do...LOL

Do you have a fun or unique obsession?
If so, I'd love to hear about it.

I made this fun little tag to hang in my craft room. I used some adorable Pretty Little Studio products too! When you have time you just have to check out their shop.

Here's what I used:

Fab twine from The Twinery

Celebrating - Gingham Style!

Monday, May 21, 2012

Several of my friends are having birthdays this month, so I've made a bunch of new cards to celebrate the occasion.

I love gingham and added some of it to the center of my card and to the little flag. Since I love playing in the Moxie Fab World - I'm also linking this up to their Gingham Challenge.

I kept the design CAS and simple and used die-cuts from Pretty Little Studios. I also cut my own die-cut circle full of polka dots with my circle die and Epic 6. I'm also linking this up to the fun Casual Fridays - "Punchy" Challenge.

Have a Happy Monday!

My Bright & Happy Mood!

Thursday, May 17, 2012

Just look at these yummy cookies. They describe my mood these days...

I'm just in one of those bright & happy moods! One of the reasons for my bliss is because the school year is winding down and I'm busy packing up my classroom for the summer.

Now I have more time to browse through blog land and play in my fave challenges. The latest fun one is in the Moxie Fab World and it's called "Bright Bite". When I saw it I just knew that I had to play along...

Here's my take on the challenge...
I literally included a colorful sweet treat in my creation
{everybody loves Skittles...right???}
I made this favor treat box using the Popcorn Box die from Lifestyle Crafts.

The plastic tube comes from SRM Stickers. They are great for gift giving. And of course the colorful paper is from Imaginisce. I love their Sole Sisters collection.

Well I'm off to do more packing - 15 more days left till Summer break...

The Gift of Twine Tutorial!

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Happy Tuesday!

I've got a fun tutorial today for you all today featuring some Samantha Walker Designs goodies. Baker's twine is a popular trend right now. Here's a way to give "The Gift of Twine" in a fun and unique way.

First you will need the following supplies:

1. A spool of baker's twine. I used the "Honeydew" twine from The Twinery.

2. Samantha Walker "Decadence" fabric - You can find it in the Riley Blake store.

3. Samantha Walker die cuts - You can find the "Heidi" collection die cuts in the Creative Imaginations store.

4. A lollipop stick - (from Michael's Craft Store)

5. Pop dots

Step #1 - Cut a piece of Samantha's fabric - 9 inches long x 2-1/2 inches wide. Wrap it around the center of the spool of twine. Use three pop dots to adhere it.

Step #2 - Add pop dots to the back of your Samantha Walker die-cut embellishments.

Step #3 - Place the die-cuts on top of the fabric. Tie a small piece of baker's twine to the larger tag die cut embellishment.

Step #4 - Add pop dots to the other die-cuts, then add them to the lollipop stick.

Step #5 - Place the decorated lollipop stick in the center of the spool of twine.

Now you are ready to give a crafty gift that will make anyone smile!

Virginia's Shop Inspiration!

Thursday, May 10, 2012

I'm such a big fan of Virginia Lu's so I had to play along in the fun challenge that she's got going on over on Yvonne's blog.

There are 3 inspirational photos that you can choose from. I chose this one because I just looove flowers!

Mother's Day is almost here!

I made these to give to my mom and some other wonderful mother's that I know. I used my Lifestyle Crafts Treat Box dies to make this.

I'm so glad that their dies work with my Big Shot. If you ever want to save 20% off then be sure to use the Promo Code "COKIE" when you order.

Here are some close-up shots of my treat box!

Thank you Virginia & Yvonne for a fun-filled challenge!

Flying Away with Lessology

Monday, May 7, 2012

Before I get into the challenge details I just wanted to share some news - this will be my last design team project for Lessology. I'm lightening my load just a bit so that I can focus more on myself, my family, and traveling more this summer. I'm sending special thanks to Yvonne Yam for being so sweet and wonderful to me. And I'm sending big hugs to Julie, Audrey, Amy, Laurel, Linda, Kirsty, Dora, Tesa, Mandy, Lisa, and Lynnda. They have been such a fabulous team to work with. :)

Now for the challenge details. This month's challenge is called - "Birds of a Feather Flock Together" - (make a project that incorporates a bird or birdcage).

I recycled some canvas and made a gift card holder. The outside is decorated with a stamped birdie, patterned paper, a doily, a button, a stick pin, and some Twinery Baker's Twine.

I'll place a gift card and handwritten note on the inside. It's best to hold the inside contents in place with a small wooden clothespin or place it all into an envelope. It's super quick & fun for gift giving.

Be sure to check out the Lessology blog to join in on all of the fun!

Pocket Full of Friends

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

My students have a great talent for talking me into making gifts for them!

I made this "Best Friend Gift Pocket" for one of my fave students to give to her BFF. She is going to place a gift card on the inside to their favorite store - Aeropostle! How cool is that?

When I gave this to her last Friday, she hugged me and said - "You are the BEST teacher ever!". Now that made my whole year. :) :) :)

{P.S. My students are sweet, but I'm still counting down the days till summer break though.......LOL} :)

Have a Happy Wednesday!
