The Kraft Journal - Anything Goes

Thursday, October 27, 2011

I am so happy to be back again this week to Guest Design with the talented team at The Kraft Journal

I loved this week's "Anything Goes" challenge. It allowed me to make mini baby books for several fellow teachers at my school who are expecting.

I used The Kraft Outlet's Kraft Mini Book Kit to make this project.

I added 10 pages to this mini album. Here are a couple of my favorites. I used baby themed chipboard and crochet lace trim to girly up each page.

Here's a full shot of my mini album. I tied crochet lace trim to the pre-made holes on the left side of the book. This keeps all of the pages together in a pretty way.

I hope to see you all play along this week!

Taking Back Some "Me Time"

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

I'm finally starting to put my creative cap on a bit more and am trying to spend more time in my craft room. I have one of those multi-tasker type of personalities where I'm doing a million things at once....all the time....you should see my date planner...and my to do list...sigh...

So I'm going to start dedicating a day to myself to spend all day in my craft room ,or hanging out with a friend at Archivers, or finding some hideaway spot to create. And I'm not gonna feel guilty about it either. I work so hard all week...can a sistah get just one day to herself to craft...geesh...LOL

So I'm taking back some "Me Time" and doing what I love to do most.

Here's my first "Me Time" card that I made. I had sooo much fun making it too. {I think my sister is still trying to find out why I get so geeky excited about crafting all day...she just doesn't get it does she?} LOL

I'm playing along with the ladies at the Pixie Dust Paperie for their "Birdsong" challenge and over at Scrapbookers Anonymous for their Letter "C" contest. I used loads of (c)hipboard on this card.

How do you get your "Me Time" in during the week?

{P.S. - The pretty ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the kraft goodies are from The Kraft Outlet}

Alter Somethin' Days - Dear Santa Pockets

Friday, October 21, 2011

It's time for Alter Somethin' Days!

{This feature will now take place once a month instead of bi-weekly so that I have time to make unique projects that I hope you will enjoy}

This month's project is a fun one that you can do with your kiddos. It involves leaving fun little notes for Santa. I call this one...

"Dear Santa" Pockets!

Here are the supplies you will need:

1. White cardstock (Bazzill)
2. "Dear Santa" stamp (Michael's)
3. Mini kraft sleeves (Canvas Corp.)
4. Christmas paper (MME)
5. Scallop & Circle Punch (SU!)
6. Glue Dots
7. Ribbon or trim (RRR)
8. Mini pencils (Michael's)
9. Ink (SU!)

Now go grab the kiddos, lay out your supplies, and start having fun.

#1 - Cut your cardstock into 3" x 5" squares.

#2 - Stamp the top of each square then set it aside to let the ink dry.

#3 - Use your punches to cut out Christmas paper. Layer your paper on top of each mini kraft sleeve. I used Glue dots to adhere each piece.

#4 - Let your kiddos write their own personal messages to Santa on the cards. Insert the cards into each kraft sleeve.

#5 - Tie a piece of ribbon or trim to the bottom of each bag for more decor.

#6 - (optional) - you can add lace trim or a small doily to each sleeve and then place your paper on top.

#7 - For gift giving add a mini pencil inside each sleeve so that the recipient can write their own message.

You can leave these under the tree or on a plate of cookies for Santa.

Now here's my message to Santa...{LOL}

Have a happy weekend!

Guest Designing - The Kraft Journal

Thursday, October 13, 2011

I am so happy & honored to Guest Design with The Kraft Journal this month. I'm such a BIG FAN of kraft products and this wonderful site.

Here are two new projects {made with products from The Kraft Outlet} for this week's "To Die Cut For" Challenge.

I used certain colors on my project after seeing the beautiful inspiration at the CR84FN color challenge.

My favorite Kraft Outlet products are the small glassine bags and the ruler twill ribbon. They are so fun to use on your projects.

I added Martha Stewart adhesive die cuts and metal keys to each of my glassine bags. I also used a large Prima bloom and The Kraft Outlet's small kraft shipping tags on my second glassine bag.

Please stop by The Kraft Journal today and check me out & leave some love. Also, don't forget to play along in the
"To Die Cut For" Challenge. You can link up {Here}.

Curling Paper!

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

I learned something new!

I went to Archiver's with Jen a while back and I keep forgetting to share this new technique that we learned.

Yep...I learned how to quill! {if you don't know what this is check out this site}. It's so much fun. Can you see the "little birdie" on my card? It was so hard getting his beak to stay in place.

And I'm also guesting at The Kraft Journal during the entire month of October. I hope you will stop by and check out the challenge this week. You can find the details {HERE}

I'll be back tomorrow with a fun new project featuring products from The Kraft Outlet.

See ya then!

She's Still Cute

Monday, October 10, 2011

I finally made a page to share with you all!

This weekend I went through boxes of old photos and found this cute one of my oldest {Bekah} when she was a toddler. She is now a 20 year-old college student. I'm soooo behind on my scrappin'...LOL

Keep reading to find about all of the fun embellies that I added to the page.  I'm linking this up to the Scrapbookers Anonymous - Die cuts Challenge.

The die cut circles that I used are from Martha Stewart Crafts. I placed two of them behind Bekah's photo. I also added Creative Charms crocheted flowers and black gradient gems.

The paper is from My Little Shoebox and the "super cute" glitter sticker is from TPC Studio.

Here's a full shot.
I love using circle shaped paper when I design a page.
Have a Happy Monday!
