Gift Bags, Trinkets, and Giveaway Winner

Thursday, November 20, 2014

I'm popping in today to share a new project and to announce the Michael's gift card winner. Be sure to keep reading to see who won!

I recently hung out with my Houston Insta-Sistas for a day of fun. Sweet Nancy Wyatt invited me to join this group!

We are a group of locals who are addicted to Instagram! We also network, share ideas, and have developed a sisterhood of friendship. These are the gifts that I gave to each lady in the group during our luncheon last month.

I whipped up these fun little bags using supplies from SRM Stickers

The pink doilies are from my stash. I also added a flower to the front of each bag.

I also gave them these cute little ceramic jewelry boxes. Each one had a fun design on it.

And now for the giveaway winner! Congrats to JP Scraps!

Christmas in July Santa Crafts

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

It's Christmas in July time! I've got a fun Santa project that I made with my Silhouette Cameo

I used the Santa Clause shape this time around. This one is so versatile. You can actually use it in two different ways – either as a table topper or party hat. Either way it is sure to be a hit at your next Christmas party!

Tip: When putting together projects like these, it’s best to use an adhesive cardstock. This type of cardstock makes it so easy to stick on pieces like the eyes, beard, Santa hat, etc. It saves a lot of time and you don’t have to add additional adhesive.

Have you started on any Christmas crafts yet?

Super Hero Party

Friday, July 18, 2014

I will be attending Comic Con in San Diego next week. This project is inspired by my love of comics and movies. I thought that this would be a great party idea for boys. There are just never enough “boy” projects out there.

I found several cut files that were perfect for this theme. This popcorn box was the perfect size. I also used the “Super Boy”“Super Hero”, and cupcake flags shapes.

The cupcake flags are very versatile. You can use them for other things besides cupcakes.

Also, I only used the head of the Super Boy for some of my embellishments for this project. After I re-sized it to my liking, I attached it to a lollipop stick.

Here are some tips for making this project:
  •  Size each piece. I sized to these measurements – (head – 1.624), (face – 1.827), (mask – 1.624)
  • Use primary colored cardstock to make the project more vibrant.
  • Be sure to change the cut and blade settings before cutting the corrugated paper.
I hope that you enjoyed my Super Hero party project!

A Silhouette Cameo Cookie Party

Wednesday, July 9, 2014

I love a good party, especially when there are sweet treats involved. Did you know that there are so many fun cut files that can be used for food containers? I found tons in the Silhouette Store.
My favorite was this chevron treat bag. You can dress them up so well with your favorite patterned paper too!
Here’s a close up shot. I also used the vellum to cut the Echo Park butterfly.

These bags are so versatile for parties. You can dress them up to fit a girly party as I did here or you can make them fit into your own personal party theme. I really like the chevron strip that comes along with this file. You can add just one or several to the front of your treat bag.

Vellum Tips:
  • Once your vellum is cut, gently remove the design from the cutting mat.
  • Use vellum adhesive to put the pieces together.
  • Use pop dots to when adhering your bows to the containers and chalkboard.

I hope you enjoyed my party project today!

Craft Party Day with Silhouette

Friday, May 30, 2014

Creating is more fun with a bunch of friends!

I love to get together with my pals for a day of creating. To live up to the “hostess with the mostest” title, I love to decorate several tables in my home to create a fun atmosphere. I really wanted to find some shapes that would serve a purpose for this crafty themed party. As I was browsing, I came across this 3D Princess Envelope Bag. It’s just the perfect size for make-and-take projects.

The 3D Princess Envelope Bags are versatile and can be resized to fit any purpose. I will fill each one with buttons, flair, and other embellishments for my guests. I also cut these Getting Crafty Life Cards. These cards serve as great table decor and gifts for those attending your craft party.
And did you notice the scissors? I used some bright and colorful paper for these. Be sure to adhere these using a pop dot to make stand out more on your projects.

I hope you enjoyed my craft party today!

A Bows and Bubblegum Party

Friday, May 23, 2014

Parties are a lot more fun when you add a fun twist to the theme! This party idea literally popped into my head one day while I was passing out bubblegum to a classroom full of teenagers. That evening I quickly browsed online for a fun shape and found this adorable 3D Bow by Lori Whitlock. It was the perfect addition to this party theme!

The  first step in creating this party is to buy a large bag of colorful bubblegum balls. Add a different color to mini-paint pails.  Then create the bows to coordinate with the color of the bubblegum. Easy, fun, and quick!

I hope you enjoyed the party!
