It's a Sweet & Simple Monday

It's our first day back at school today!

 

Since it's such a busy day I'm just popping in with a sweet and simple tag to show you.

 

I just love the jar image from this stamp set. I used The Craft's Meow's "Jar of Sunshine" for this one. I think it's a great little jar to use on tags for gifting!

 

 

And I also wanted to thank you guys for all of the sweet comments about my layouts. I'm really enjoying making them. I think I'm addicted to layering on my pages. :)

 

Stay tuned to the blog this week. Rachel starts her senior year today and I'll be making a page to celebrate her first day of school. :)

You've Earned an A+

 

It's back to school time!

 

I actually have one more week off then we have to report back. I'm making loads of fun goodies for my students. I love to reward them when they do good on a test, read an extra book, or show respect to a fellow student. 

 

 

Here's how I made it...

 

First, I stamped the "A+" using The Craft's Meow "Circle It" stamp set.

 

 

 

The notebook paper was made with Lil Inker Dies. I also used some goodies from SRM Stickers. I loaded some pencils into one of their tall clear boxes. I also used their "Say it with Stickers - Teacher" and "Express Yourself - School" stickers.

 I've got a kraft gift box today. Gifting is so much fun when you dress it up with stamps, paper, & embellies.

 

 

I used the "Let's Face It" stamps on my project today! 

I love the "You Go Girl" and eyeglasses in this set.

The colors of the flowers are perfect for summer gifting!

 

 

I added some crochet twine, a clothespin, and bling too!

 

The chipboard is from the My Mind's Eye "Cambridge Court" collection.

I love a good gift card holder. This one was so fun to make. I cut and scored patterned paper then adhered the sides only. Make sure you leave enough room to slide a gift card inside the pocket.

 

I layered Pink Paislee paper goodies on top. I also stamped and embossed an image from the "Beautiful Rose" set.

I love sending happy mail, so I've made some fun envelopes and tags to go along with each package. The font on the sentiments are fabulous!

 

Instead of coloring the words, I stamped on colorful paper. It creates a clean and graphic look to the design. There are so many design possibilities with this one.

A Page of Sweet Memories

June Preview Day #3 is here!

Fun fact: I'm so slow when I make mini albums. I only complete a couple of pages a day. I always try to do something fun with the pages. I'm working my brain way too much right? (smile)

I actually won this Amy Tangerine Day Book from Carina's blog during the American Crafts blog hop last month. I decided to decorate this page with a "dressed up" tag using the Sweet Memories stamp set.

I love adding texture to my projects. The felt heart was actually from a Valentine's Day placemat that I got from Michael's Craft Store. I carefully cut out one of the hearts and added it to the page.

Now I've gotta figure out what I want to do with the rest of the pages. This make take a while.....

Embellie Gifting

This idea popped in my head when I received some happy mail from the sweet Janice Coble. I loved the ribbon so much that I drove over to Michael's Craft Store to get more.

 

I'm giving these ribbon packs to my crafty friends. Before gift giving, it's always best to dress it up with a tag.

 

I made a mini tag by stamping one of the sentiments on top. I also added some Pink Paislee goodies.

Doily Party Favors with The Craft's Meow

 

 It's time for The Craft's Meow June Release Week!

I love to gift and make party favors. I though it would be fun to make some unique party favors using doilies.

 

 

First, I rolled them into a cone shape. I then wrapped them in ric-rac ribbon. I topped them off with embossed stamped sentiments using the "Beautiful Rose" stamp.

 

 

I think these would look great for wedding or girly baby shower favors. What do you think?

Since June is all about Dad, I chose a fun image that can be used on a "DUDE" card. I also added a bright orange piece of ribbon above the sentiment to add more pops of color to the design.

Dude, Twins, and Instagram

I'm jumping in head first into the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol competition.

It's a lot like American Idol, except there is no singing.

{Thank God! I can't sing!}

The open round of auditions is going on right now. I submitted three cards.

The first one - (shown above) - was inspired by my teenage students. They are always saying the word "dude". I used a stamp from The Craft's Meow, a Lil Inker bow tie die, and Studio Calico paper.

Here's my second entry. I wanted to do something creative and make a birthday card for twins. I think the lollipop sticks and the graphics from the digital kit add some fun to the design.

My third entry came about because of my love for Instagram. The design popped in my head in the middle of the night. This one is for a Teen Girl's Birthday! 

I stamped the camera image using a little one from Fresh Squeezed Stamps. I typed the sentiment myself using my fave font - "Ostrich Sans". As you can see, I kept the design clean and simple. The American Crafts paper helped me add a splash of color.

I'm keeping my fingers & toes crossed!

Glassine Bag Gift Card Holder

 

 

I adhered patterned paper to the top of the glassine bag. Pop dots were used under the stamped sentiment to give it some dimension. I also used my S.U. punch to add a fluttering butterfly.
