Documenting this Sweet Face

Friday, December 27, 2013

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

I'm popping in today with a new layout of my cutie pie nephew. My sister took this picture of him while he was enjoying yummy snack time. I love the expression on his face and had to document this fun moment.

I used the Creative Scrappers sketch for this one!

Did you notice the fun element that I added to the top of the photo? I used some paper confetti shreds. I think it adds an interesting touch to the page.

The paper, stickers, and embellishments are from the CTMH - Babycakes collection. The wooden "documented" piece is from The Paper Bakery.

The journaling is from a poem that I found online about little boys. I think it fits so well with the photo!

I hope you all enjoy your weekend! I'll be popping in with more new projects!!!

Enjoy Your New Dress

I've got a fun page for Rebekah's scrapbook today. She's my oldest and just celebrated her 22nd birthday! I posted this photo on my Instagram, but hadn't added it to a page yet. I was waiting to find just the right paper and embellies first.

I used Paper Bakery 's sketch #11. This is one of Juliana's fun sketches. I really love the circle elements.

Forever 21 is Rebekah's fave store. The photo is of her modeling her new dress. I even typed out some journaling on this one.

The fun background paper is from Basic Grey. The rest of the products are from Heidi Swapp. I even cut one of the Vintage Chic Memory Files in half and added it to the page.

The large bloom is from Martha Stewart Crafts.

I am also playing along in the Red Carpet Studio - Anything Else challenge.

And The Shabby Tea Room #182. I was inspired by their photo!

I hope you all enjoy your Labor Day weekend!

The Storyteller in the Family

Monday, August 5, 2013

I truly believe that everyone has a special role in their family. My mom loves to share her love of cooking with us. My dad is the "entertainer" and always makes us smile. And so on and so on...

I believe that my role is the storyteller.

They look to me to take photos and document our special times together. Since no one in my family makes layouts, I've decided to start making more pages and scrapbooks for them.

First up is a page for my cute little nephew. He recently had his first photo shoot. I used the Paper Bakery sketch for this one.

Instead of using three photos, I used one as my focal point. To follow along with the sketch I used photo frames and "dressed them up" to add interest.

Here are some close up details. I used Basic Grey's "Hey You", "Hey Girl", and "Capture" goodies on this one.

I also loaded the page with plenty of chipboard, die cuts, and some crochet thread too.

I tore the paper to make it look a bit jagged and worn around Tristan's photo. I think it adds a bit of texture and makes the photo pop.

There's a stitched element to the page too. I used Basic Grey's garland and made my own handmade buttons using Epiphany Crafts 14 Round Tool.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:
