OWH is a wonderful organization. I'm a veteran myself and really admire the work that they do for our heroes. Be sure to check out their website for information on how you can create a handmade card for our military members.

Here's my card...

Here's the sketch that inspired me...

I used loads of American Crafts paper and embellishments. I also added a greeting using SRM's "We've Got Your Border - Thanks" stickers.

Be sure to visit the SRM Stickers Blog to see the list of the blogs in today's hop. And there will be giveaways of 5 special "Thank You" prize packets.  Be sure to drop by and leave a comment to be in the running to be a WINNER!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Saturday, October 2, 2010

I love to make cards so of course I wanted to celebrate today because it's "World Card Making Day!

It's a holiday for card makers around the world to celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family. Here's a card in honor of this special day. I've entered it in several fun challenges today too.

I'm a Language Arts teacher so Reading and Child Literacy is important to me. That's why I had to join in on the fun challenges going on over at Frosted Designs this week.

You are supposed to design a project based on inspiration from a book. I love the "Junie B. Jones" children's book series and used it as inspiration for my card.

Junie always wears the cutest little dresses and tights.
When I saw this little dress from Jolee’s Boutique, I knew that I had to use it on my card.
 Love these chipboard flowers.
I used 3 on this one and also entered this in the fun challenge going on
over at The Sisterhood of Crafters.
I also entered this over at Pile It On for their Cute & Charming Challenge.
I also just found out that Torendi is having a challenge today for WCMD. We are to draw from this inspirational photo. Some of these little girls have on the cutest little dresses. I think my card fits in well with their challenge too.
If you made a card for this special day please leave your link in the comments section below. I'd love to hop by today to see your creation. Also, please join me again tomorrow for another card debut to celebrate World Cardmaking Day!  And I’ll have more crafty fun on Monday with the debut of my Glue Dots project.
