Shabby Beautiful!

Monday, October 25, 2010

I'm an ETSY FANATIC and I'm always shopping on the site. There are so many talented artists on Etsy that you must check out! One shop has the most amazing mixed media collage art. I call their style "Shabby Beautiful"......but the actual name of the shop is Stilettoheights. They are the inspiration behind the Etsy Inspired Challenge this week.

I was drawn toward this canvas called "I Waited in a Ruffled Dress". The woman's pose reminded me of the dress form that I used on my card.
I also CASED cards from designers at The Shabby Tea Room. I love the pink elements in both cards. I gave my card a shabby chic look like Cheryl's. I also added crochet and buttons to my card like Clare's. Instead of using a tag (like Clare), I used another piece of patterned paper behind the flower. To see Clare & Chery's beautiful cards click HERE.

I love how the dress form (cut from MME paper) glitters on the card. I used three different patterned papers on this from MME, Echo Park, and The Girls Paperie. I also used a crocheted flower from stash and a couple of buttons. The sentiment is cut from an MME die cut.

Absolutely AMAZING stuff in the Stilettoheights shop. Here are some of my other FAVES that I want to use as inspiration for some future projects. Go check it out when you have time.
