My Crafty Weekend with Friends

Monday, October 28, 2013

Monday is here! It was a busy weekend for me. I'm just popping in today to show you a Fall-inspired card. I also wanted to share a couple of photos from our Saturday craft day.

My sweet co-worker Susana invited me over for a card making party that Tammy was hosting. We had so much fun crafting, talking, and eating yummy food. I can't wait to get together again with these ladies.

Here we all are showing off our cards!

This is some of the goodies that we snacked on during the event.

So...how was your weekend?
Did you all get crafty?

I Really Need to Focus on Christmas...but...

Thursday, October 24, 2013

Every year I promise myself the same thing!

I will get my Christmas cards done early!

This plan is not working out for me once again.

Sigh...

I live in a warm weather state, so it's really hard for me to create when there's still humidity in the air.

Spring is also my fave time of year!

Birdies and flowers are constantly on my brain!

More sighing...

Please send a cool breeze my way.

Perhaps that will get me back on track with my Christmas card making.

P.S. I used paper from  Imaginisce - "Endless Summer". {Isn't it ironic that I used paper with this title?} The sweet little birdie & the "friends" sticker are from their "Childhood Memories" collection. And the beautiful bloom is from Martha Stewart Crafts.

I Love This The Most

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

I'm a tad bit obsessed with this type of crafting!

If you are a regular visitor to my blog then you probably agree!

"Gifting" is just the type of crafting that I love the most!

{confession - I'm really beginning to love creating layouts too!}

I made this one so that I can have extra gift items on hand for family and friends. It's always nice to give a "just because" gift.

I started out by using a Lifestyle Crafts die. I also used paper from Allison Kreft's - Recorded collection

I used a smaller die to make the "love this" tag. The tag paper is from Amy Tangerine's Cut and Paste. And the floral chipboard is from My Mind's Eye.

And guess what? - - - I'm playing along in the CAS-ual Fridays Tags & Bags challenge.

What type of crafting do you love the most?

Tristan Takes a Ride

Sunday, October 20, 2013

My cutie pie nephew loves to take a ride in the car. His little face looks so serious as he takes in all of the sights and sounds all around him.

My sister sent me this photo the other day and I just had to make a new page for his scrapbook.

I used some fun chipboard from Carta Bella's Rough and Tumble collection. I even wrapped some twine around the chipboard and used it on a chippie button.

The bright yellow paper is from Allison Kreft's - Recorded collection. The thickers and the other paper are from American Crafts' Polka Dot PartyI also used various dies from Lifestyle Crafts.

I found a great sketch for this page.

I'm also playing in the Whimsical Twist Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!
{I used twine, chipboard, and thickers}

It's Right Around the Corner

Wednesday, October 16, 2013

Christmas is right around the corner. Before you know it we will all be in the midst of the shopping crowds, wrapping gifts, and baking comfort foods in the oven.

I'm getting into the Christmas spirit with my crafting too. I've got a couple of fun projects for ya today. This time I got to combine both Epiphany Crafts and Lawn Fawn goodies.

I made a Christmas card and doily ornaments. The card was made with Lawn Fawn’s Peace, Joy, Love collection. The colors are so merry and bright. This paper is perfect for all of your festive crafts and card making.

I also made more doily ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree.

The center of each doily is decorated with a handmade button made with Epiphany Crafts Scalloped Circle 25 Tool and Bubble CapsI added Lawn Fawn’s Gold Sparkle Hemp Twine to each of them. It’s so bright and shiny and perfect for the holiday season.

These doilies would also look great on your Christmas gift boxes and gift bags. The kiddos would have fun hanging these on the tree too.

The Dress, The Shoes, The Mum & A Winner

Monday, October 14, 2013

Friday brought back fun memories for me. I was helping Rachel get ready for Homecoming. I started to think about the time when I found the perfect dress. And let's not forget about the homecoming mum. We all wore them to school on game day. Fun times for sure!!!

I took Rachel down to the lake for a homecoming photo shoot. She started to get so tired of me taking shots of her. (LOL) She should be used to it by now. After all, her mother is a scrapper right?

I did get some great pictures and wanted to use one on a page. Then came the task of looking for a sketch to use. I love to use sketches when I design a layout.

I found a fun one from Creative Scrappers!

And I have a new FAVE paper line. Have you seen Allison Kreft's - Recorded collection? The colors and the embellies are fabulous. I will be using this one a lot.

Here are some close-up shots of my page!

I did add a few pieces from My Mind's Eye too. The stitched banner (above) and stitched element (below) are from MME's Cut & Paste collection. They are made of felt too. It adds a bit of fun texture to the page.

And now for the Two Peas giveaway winner. Thank you to everyone that entered. Rachel picked the winner from a bowl this time around. She did have her eyes closed. (No peeking!!!!)

Congrats go to...

Woo Hoo Kim Heggins!

Please send me an email so that I can get your gift certificate info to you.

Here's my project for Day #3

This post is dedicated to my love for the movie "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"

I still gather in front of the T.V. to watch it every year. I just love it. This is one movie that I will never outgrow.

I have several friends who like healthy treats for their kiddos. I made Snoopy snack bags and filled them with granola bars.

The Charlie Brown stickers are from Hallmark. They sell them in packs. They are great for little projects like this. The bat is made from felt. I added some small gems for the eyes.

I also added some washi tape to the clothespin. The embellishment is from American Crafts. You can easily use these clothespins to attach to trick or treat bags.
