It's Moxie Fab Time!

Friday, December 31, 2010

I wanted to do two things today. Wish all of you wonderful bloggy friends a Very Happy New Year. And I wanted to play along in one of my fave challenges before the year ended. Here are two brand new cards for the Moxie Fab Challenge.

The one above is for the Moxie Fab - Glitter is Glam Challenge. I love adding different textures to my cards and actually used a wood piece from K & Company. I glittered it up a bit and added a splash of color.

And this card is for the Moxie Fab - Tuesday Trigger Strictly Stripes Challenge. I kept a clean a simple look to this one. I used my square scallop punch on the paper.  I also added the word "Happy" and a bright colored butterfly. This one made me smile. Here's the inspiration photo.

Enjoy your evening everyone. We are staying in and off the roads. Tonight we will be eating loads of junk food and watching Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve and The Twilight Zone marathon. Fun Times!

Happy New Year!

Forever Emo & A Winner!

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I'm back before the year ends with a fun card for this week's Papercraft Star Challenge. We have a sketch for you to try!

I decided to make a fun card using the sketch. I recently ordered a bunch of cute vinyl "Emo Love" stickers from E.A.D. Designs.

The little Emo girls that came with this set are so adorable.
Instead of using plain ribbon, I used a hot pink colored mesh to add some texture to the design.

If you ever want to add some different textures to your cards try browsing your local fabric store. You will always find something fun that will make your cards look unique. I found this mesh one day and absolutely love using it.

PCS is sponsored by Scrapfreak during the month of December. And our prize sponsor this week is My Paper TreehouseYou can visit their online store to purchase scrapbooking products, sign up for classes and more. And for more fun be sure to check out the PCS Message Boards for crafty chit-chat.

And a Big Thank You to everyone that participated in the PCS Christmas blog hop. The winner of the Stampin Up! Candy Cane Designer Series Christmas Paper is........

Have A Very Blessed Christmas!

Friday, December 24, 2010

These cute little Nativity cupcakes from The Cupcake Tarts are so adorable. I love that they celebrate the true meaning of Christmas - Jesus' birth.

I wanted to wish all of you a Very Blessed Christmas. I am so thankful for all of the bloggy friends that I've made this year. The craft & scrapbook community is sooooo full of wonderful people. I'm sending hugs your way this Christmas! :) :)

There is so much hustle & bustle going on right now but I am comforted in knowing that Jesus was born on this most precious day.  Giving love and spending time with family are what is most important. I hope we always remember that.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given...And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. - Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV

Enjoy your Christmas Everyone!

Since I am wrapping a lot of large packages this Christmas, I decided to make another oversized tag. The cute reindeer is from the cover of a set of note cards that I have on my desk. I love this Bo Bunny Paper. It already had beautiful script writing in the design of the paper.

I wanted to dress up the tag a bit so I added fancy ribbon and a beautiful brad.
I took the brad off of a Prima flower.

This tag was so simple to make. Here's how to make one.

1. Trace the pattern of an oversized tag using cardstock. Cut out your tag.
2. Use that pattern to trace out the tag on patterned paper. Cut it out and adhere it on top of the cardstock tag.
3. Add your favorite image or embellishment.
4. Add a glitter brad somewhere. I added a red one to the top of his hat.
5. Add fancy ribbon.
6. Add an oversized brad.
7. Tada! You've made a homemade tag.

I'm offering a prize on my blog during the hop. I'm giving away some Stampin Up! Candy Cane Designer Series Christmas Paper.
The winner will be selected on December 26th. Here's how to win:

Elf Box Fun!

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

I'm back with a fun project for you scrappers out there. So many of you don't realize the fun ways that you can use digital designs with your traditional scrapping. It's an easy and fun mix that can add more variety to your crafting.

I made these "Elf" Boxes using the CUTE "Santa Baby" digital kit from Lollipop Press. There are so many cute papers and embellies in this kit. I love the bright and cheery colors. Soooo cute for Christmas. To purchase this Santa Baby kit & other fun digital elements please visit the LP store by clicking HERE.

I just love these stocking elf feet in the digital kit.
And isn't this paper yummy? I love all of the swirls and curls on it.
This paper and many more are also in the kit.

I also made a gift bag with the same digital kit. I added more yummy paper and this cute Santa. Both are included in the kit. And I still have many, many more images left to make other projects.

I enjoyed making the Elf box so much that I'm also linking this up over at Paper Issues for their Holiday Hook-Up!

Recycle Fun with Papercraft Star!

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

It's time for another fun-filled challenge at Papercraft Star.

#24 Green Holidays
Create an altered holiday gift, card or scrapbook layout
using recycled or repurposed  items you already have on hand.

Our December Sponsor is Scrapfreak. We also have an AWESOME prize for you - Purple Pumpkin. I love all of their cute embellies. Be sure to link up for the chance of winning a darling Gingerbread Man Embellishment Kit.

I save plenty of paper bags from my local bakery. I dressed this one up for Christmas gift giving. I punched out squares and topped them with this cute little Santa!

I also added stickers. One way to make your stickers more sturdy on your projects is to add cardstock to the back of them. I outlined mine with Kraft cardstock since it matched the color scheme.

To add more pizazz to the bag I decided to dress up the handles a bit. I had wire lying around and bent it in the shape of bag handles. Rachel also had a pile of beads (from a broken necklace). I strung the beads on the wire and Taaaaadaaaa.......I now have these cute handles for the bag.

I am also entering this project over at The Kraft Journal. If you haven't had a chance to check them out yet please do. They are having a fun Holiday Challenge. You can shop at their store now through December 31, 2010 with this promo code, HOLIDAY10 to receive 10 percent of all of your purchases at Kraft Outlet. For details click HERE

Orange Blooms & Butterflies

Monday, December 6, 2010

***If you are looking for my Birthday Giveaway please click - HERE

Thank you everyone for all of the birthday wishes yesterday. You guys are the SWEETEST. :)

I'm starting out the week with a fun project that I made for my craft room. I just purchased some orange flowers from IKEA and I wanted to make some crafty items that matched the color.

I love to draw from inspiration when I design things. My inspiration for this project came from the Etsy Inspired Challenge and the paper design/mixed media shop called Paper Seeds.

I love this Upcycled Brown & Orange Butterfly Bud Vase with Wish Flowers.

For my project I decorated a crafty paper box that I purchased at Michael's. I cut off the top handles because I am going to put post-it notes and flower pens in it. I always need to write down my supply list when I create. This will be handy dandy for me. Plus it matches the decor in my craft room.

I added patterned paper and topped it with an orange butterfly. I strategically placed a bunch of orange flowers at the top. I love, love, love flowers. :)  On the back I added the the word "SMILE" and another small butterfly. I love the bling on the letters.

I also wanted to share some pictures. The sky was so beautiful yesterday morning over the cross and waterfall in front of our church. I had to take a picture of it.

The Christmas tree at church is so GORGEOUS too. Love it!

I hope everyone has a great week and Keep Smiling! :)

Supplies
Paper Box (Celebrate It); Patterned Paper (DCWV - Citrus Stack); Butterfly (Martha Stewart); Smile Chipboard (Me & My Big Ideas); Paper Flowers (Martha Stewart & Prima); Ribbon (Celebrate It)
