I'm Sooo Excited!

Wednesday, December 28, 2011

I hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas with your family & friends. I ate waaayyy too much. Here's a fun Christmas day photo of my Diva sister Nicole (aka Cokie), my Beautiful Mom, and me (in white)!

I'm getting ready for the New Year now. I'm already celebrating because my first ever print publication is out on the shelves.

The February issue of Scrapbooks Etc. is here and my "Valentine Mini Treat Bags" are in this issue.

Since this is my very first design in print I just had to share today. Thanks for indulging me and my geeky excitement. :) I'll be back in a couple of days with some brand new projects! Enjoy your week!

Wooden Box Christmas!

Thursday, December 22, 2011

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

I'm popping in to wish all of my bloggy friends a Happy & BLESSED Christmas! Here's my latest altered creation.

I got this wooden box & the red leaf in the clearance section at Hobby Lobby months ago. The red pointsettia is actually a hair clip. I took the clip off and added a pop up Glue Dot to the back. I dressed it up in Christmas decor for gift giving.

There is so much hustle & bustle going on right now, but I am comforted in knowing that Jesus was born on this most precious day. Giving love and spending time with family are what is most important. I hope we always remember that.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given...And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." - Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV

Enjoy your Christmas Everyone!

Supplies:
Wooden box, leaf, flower clip, doily (Hobby Lobby); Patterned Paper, stickers, die-cut embellishments (Creative Memories - Noel)

Nik's "Me" Journal

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

I hope you all are having a fabulous week before Christmas. The last couple of days have been a whirlwind. I did get to see "Mission Impossible". It was an AWESOME thrill ride. Tom Cruise packed this flick with loads of action. It's a must see for sure!

I needed a last minute gift and decided to dress up this American Crafts - Amy Tangerine kraft mini book.

This project was so quick and easy. The mini book comes pre-loaded with paper. I added a few stickers, a filter flower doily, a Prima bloom, fabric Thickers, and baker's twine.

I left plenty of room for Nik {aka Nicole} to add her own journaling and memorabilia.

It's time for me to head back to the kitchen. I'm baking cupcakes and cookies. The kitchen smells sooo good right now. Have a happy week!

Supplies
Kraft mini book (American Crafts - A.T.); Patterned Paper (American Crafts - A.T. - Get Around); Accent & Phrase Stickers (American Crafts - A.T. - Good Times); Fabric Thickers (American Crafts - A.T. - Hello); Filter Flower Doily (Fancy Pants); Flower (Prima); Baker's Twine (Divine Twine)

Gifts for Movie Lovers

Friday, December 16, 2011

We are BIG movie lovers in my house!

We see all the latest and greatest flicks with our "Movie Bunch" friends. We watch the SAG awards, the Golden Globes, and the Academy Awards. We are fanatics!!!

I've made these "Movie Buckets" before and decided to make a whole bunch more to give as Christmas gifts this year.

The inside is filled with popcorn, Twizzlers, a Hershey's bar, and an AMC movie theater gift card. The wooden box and all of the paper goodies are from Hobby Lobby. It's a quick and easy gift idea too!

Have a happy weekend! We are off to see "Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocal" tonight. Love me some Tom Cruise!!!

A Charming Frame

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Have you ever created something and just
didn't like the end result?

Well...that's what happened to me when I made a frame for LESSology Challenge #8 - Frame of Life. I made a different frame than the one you see here today. After staring at the original one for hours, I decided that I really didn't like it very much. {LOL}

Here's my frame design re-do!
{I like this one much better!}

My flowers had missing pearls, so I recycled some and added them to the middle of each bloom. The ribbon that I used was ripped in the middle. I used some extra thread that I had lying around to patch it up for this frame.

The frame is from Ikea. The beautiful birdcage paper & brad are from My Mind's Eye - Blush "Beautiful Girl" collection.

Be sure to stop by the LESSology blog to enter this fun contest. You have until December 25th to link up your entries. We have a fabulous prize pack from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

The more fun you can add to a package the better! I also added a Martha Stewart Crafts metal key & circle die-cut.

And look at these glassine bags that I dressed up.
I call them "Peppermint Bags".

Whip out your fave punch & add fun shapes to the front of your bag. Once you add ribbon & a cute button - you are ready to spread some Christmas cheer!

You've Got Mail

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

It's time for a fun Lessology Challenge!

This time you are to make an altered project that
centers around the theme - "Mail".
{make sure you add a recycled/upcycled item}

I dressed up some Maya Road Kraft envelopes with some yummy MME paper & embellies. My recycled item is some stretched canvas that I had lying around. I used an old tag as a template to cut the canvas into a fun shape.

Here's the second envelope that I made.

I used non-traditional Christmas colors on this one.

Now it's  your turn to make something fun related to "Mail". We have a fabulous prize from the Pixie Dust Paperie. You have until December 11th to join in on all of the fun!
