Bloom and Grow Gift Tags

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

There is an exciting debut going on at Lifestyle Crafts.

They have released their new die-cut collection called "Bloom & Grow" . This one is full of pretty blooms that are oh-so-perfect for tag making, card making, and scrapbook pages. Many of the shapes can be layered for a fun 3-D effect too.

I layered the Scallop Doilies Die to create these fun gift tags. The paper is from Pink Paislee's Daily Junque collection. You can use foam dot adhesive to layer the die-cut blooms.

These die cuts are so simple & easy to use. You simply place the paper on top of the die, and sandwhich it between the cutting plates. You then run them through your Big Shot, Epic 6, or any other die cut machine. They work in all of the leading die cutters.

The Little Fur Ball!

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

The Jessica Sprague Birthday Celebration last week was a lot of fun. I took the free class and created this fun digital page. I used a photo of my sister's sweet doggie. Tate is such a cute ball of fur!

The class taught me how to use brushes, use layers, and journal. It was so much fun! They have extended the birthday sale and digital products are 40% off.

Check it out {HERE} when you have time!

Punches and Embellies!

Monday, June 25, 2012

A new week has started and I'm still making my own embellies!

I have no idea yet how I will use these, but I'm having fun just the same. I really need to work on making more layouts while I have free time. Don't be surprised if you see these on some of my new pages in the next few weeks.

I'm using all of my paper scraps and punches to make these too. Here are some more shots of the ones I've made so far.

And here's a shot of Rachel & her little cousin Grant. She has been trying to teach him all about the singing group called "One Direction". If you have a daughter then you probably know who they are. I'm making something crafty "One Direction" style and will show it right here on the blog really soon!

Have a great Monday!

Yellow and Gray = Happy

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Summer is my friend right now. I've got no papers to grade, no lesson plans to prepare, no getting up early, and I can be lazy all day if I want to. It's my fave season of the year!

I'm taking advantage of all of this free time and have been making loads of cards. This one is for the latest CR84FN Challenge. I just had to enter this one after I saw yellow in the color palette. I love everything in yellow.

Here's a close-up! I used yummy Pink Paislee - "Daily Junque" and a Prima flower on this one.

And thank you all for the sweet comments yesterday! :) Be sure to join me back here on Thursday for my new Twinery project!

Turn to Page 25

Monday, June 18, 2012

Did everyone have a Happy Father's Day? We showered my dad with good food and loads of gifts. I changed purses and forgot to bring my camera with me yesterday...sigh...so I missed out on geting some great photos. We had a good time anyway!

And I received an email from Northridge Publishing that the new Create: Embellish magazine is out. I have not seen it in person yet...but...

I'm sooo excited!

It's the July issue and my "Inspiration Tray" is on page 25. It's one of my fave projects that I've ever made. I must make more of these. I can't wait to get the issue in the mail.

Here's a snapshot of the page:

There are lots of goodies in this issue. You've got to get this one. And the very talented Audrey Pettit's card is on the cover. She's such a sweet bloggy friend and oh so talented.

And here's a new card that I worked on this weekend! I'm trying to make more cards and homemade gifts for my friends. :) This one is full of paper goodies from the Imaginisce - Sole Sisters collection.

And please join me back tomorrow for another new card debut.

DIY Embellishments

Friday, June 15, 2012

Happy Friday everyone! I've got something fun for ya today. Here's a cost-saving way to make your own embellishments using some adorable Samantha Walker Designs paper.

This project features the adorable Kokeshi Collection. You can find these goodies in the Creative Imaginations store.

Here's how to make your own:

1. Use a 2-3/4" scallop circle punch for the larger shapes.

2. Use a 1-3/4" circle punch for the Kokeshi girls.
(Place your punch on the paper just right so that you can correctly cut out the girls.)

3. Place a pop dot on the back of each girl for dimension.

4. Layer the cirlce on top of the larger scallop cirlcle.
(Optional - You can also add a doily to the back of your embellie for more fun)

5. Use your new embellishments on cards or scrapbook pages.

These embellishments are so fun & easy to make...(especially when you use Samantha's adorable paper collections. I hope all enjoyed my project today!

More Time to Play!

Monday, June 4, 2012

Yep I'm officially off for the summer, and I actually got to sleep in for the first time in months!

Summer break is pure bliss for teachers. I'm so excited because I actually got to play in my craft room all day yesterday. I made tons of new projects. Here's a fun card for ya to start your Monday morning off with a smile.

Don'tcha just love that little birdie?

He's really an embellie for the "Smash" books, but I wanted to use him on my card instead. I also used some fun Nikki Sivils "Exit Here" woodgrain paper on the background of my card. I layered different paper and the birdie in the center.

I'm also linking this up to some fun challenges that I have not played with in a while:

and

So what do you all have planned this summer? My summer "to do list" is growing longer and longer each day....(smile)!
