Celebration Card and Superstar Wand Set

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

It's been stressful for both teachers and students here in Texas. We've been busy with standardized testing.

I made a fun project for my students after their test results came in last week. They were so relieved to hear that they passed their reading test.

It was a fun time to cheer on their success. Of course, I used fun products from Richard Garay's Celebrations line.

The test is called STAAR here in our state, so of course I whipped out a Celebrations star shaped die to use on the card.

And check out the blue color behind the star. I used a stamp called Brush Strokes. This stamp gives a fun watercolor effect on your project. It's one of my faves to use!

I also made a "Superstar wand" using a lollipop stick and the same star shaped die. I wrapped the stick with Celebrations green linen thread. I must make more of these. My students loved them!

You can always check out the products by clicking here! They are so fun to use for any type of Celebration!

Celebrations Supplies:
Stamps: Brush Strokes and Many Words
Dies: Pierced Stars and Fun-Filled Rings
Paper: Celebrations Prints
Cardstock: Sea Spray
Ink: Celebrations Sea Spray and Berry Black

Bow Ties and Birthdays

Monday, August 4, 2014

This card was made just because I love cute little bow ties!

You can never have enough birthday cards on hand. I whipped up this little one in minutes. I kept the design simple. I think the green adds just the right splash of color too!

I used a Lori Whitlock 3D bow tie cut file and Lifestyle Crafts dies on this one. The birthday sentiment is from SRM Stickers.

I'm linking this one up to the bow tie challenge going on over at Curtain Call. It's a fun one!

Hope you all have a happy week!

Supplies:
SRM Stickers - #42021 Express Yourself Birthday
Paper - American Crafts
Bow - Lori Whitlock cut file

Camera Shaped Card for my Traveling Buddies

Sunday, August 3, 2014

I've taken some really fun vacations this summer. I'm even headed to Hawaii in a couple of days.

I made a couple of camera shaped cards for my traveling buddies - (my mom and Rachel)! I used my Silhouette and a fun cut file from Lori Whitlock. I used pop dots behind the heart and "perfect vacation" sentiment to add some dimension.

I've been wanting to play along in sweet Virginia Lu's View Challenge for a while now. I'm linking this one up for sure!

There's some challenge fun going on in blog land. I'm also linking up at Moxie Fab World and Little Red Wagon too.

Have a happy week and I will share pics of Hawaii once we get back. It will be my first time there. Can't wait!

For Your Sweet Little Girl

Monday, January 27, 2014

Have you seen the new My Baby collection from Imaginisce?

It is super sweet and adorable for both little girls and boys. Here's a new gift set that I made with it.

This paper collection comes in both girl and boy designs. I used the baby girl goodies on my card and gift box. I just love the dimensional stickers.

The entire collection has great patterned paper. I also love that it has a variety of designs that come decorated with elephants, giraffes, hippos, and bunnies.

The soft pink looks great set against a kraft box. And check out the Imaginisce gems on the front. Every girl needs a little bling right?

Happy Tuesday ya'll! I hope you all had a Happy MLK Day!

I wanted to show you a trendy card that I made during a craft day at Vera's house!

Trendy products really do inspire me when I create! I always find fun stuff when I browse the web.

Check out the inspiration that I used to make this card:

Don't you just love these adorable products? This card was so easy to create after looking at all of this cuteness!

I used some fun MME - Cut and Paste paper and this cool Insta Stamp by Kelly Purkey! Her stamps are so fun and trendy too! Thanks Vera for introducing me to her products!

Do you ever use Pinterest or Etsy to find crafting inspiration?

I'm so happy for them!

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

Good morning everyone! I wanted to pop in today to share a very special card. I made this one for a fellow teacher and her husband. They have long battled with infertility. I truly believe that God is always with us even through difficult times.

Well, he had a plan for these two. He has blessed them with not only one child, but two. They have adopted a brother and sister who needed a good home.

Adoption is a beautiful thing. The important thing to remember is that having parents that love you, whether biological or chosen, is a tremendous gift. They are going to be awesome parents to these two beautiful children.

I just love this quote that I found online...

They may not have my eyes, they may not have my smile, but they have all my heart.
{-author unknown-}

I used the Babycakes collection from Close to My Heart for this one. I just love the colors and the adorable giraffe.

I'm playing along in the Seize the Sketch challenge!

Be sure to stop back by later on this week. I've got a fun New Year's project to show ya!

Let the Christmas fun begin!!!!

It's time to start thinking about Christmas gift giving. It's always great to have a bunch of mini cards on hand for those last minute gifts for family and friends.

Who needs a store bought card when you can make your own mini cards? I made these in less than 10 minutes using some leftover double sided patterned paper.

I used my die cutter to make the circle shapes then added some fun SRM Stickers. They are so fun and festive and look great as the focal point of your mini cards.

The Santa face, Christmas tree, and stocking are my fave images. I used the We've Got Your Sticker - Merry and Labels by the Dozen - Christmas Greetings.

Be sure to visit all of the blogs for loads of Christmas craft ideas!

The Sweet Caring Hearts Card Drive

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

My sweet crafty friend Vera Yates is once again hosting the Caring Hearts Card Drive. I hope you will go and check it out & join in. It's a great way to spread some holiday cheer this year!

I wanted to share two of the cards that I made. I added lots of fun elements to this one. The adorable Santa and patterned paper are from Doodlebug Design's Home For the Holidays collection.

I also added a glassine bag and a kraft tag to the design. The white doily and "joy" sentiment are from Heidi Swapp's Believe collection.

I used a fun sketch for my second card.

It's from Seize the Sketch

I used more Heidi Swapp goodies and added an adorable Santa embellie from Hobby Lobby.

How is your Christmas card making going?
I am actually getting mine done early this year!
{It's a miracle for sure - LOL}

Moxie Fab Thanks Blog Hop

Welcome to the Moxie Fab Thanks Blog Hop!

You should have arrived from Katie Gehring's blog!

Welcome to a very special blog hop for the Moxie Fab World's Cath Edvalson. She has been the wonderful Trends Editor over there. We all have gotten together today to show her how special she is to the paper crafting community.

And here is the card that I made for sweet Cath!

Here is my top 5 list of things that I want to share about Cath!

1. Why have I not met this fabulous woman yet? I hope that she will make an appearance at CHA sometime in 2014 so that I can meet her. (hint...hint...)

2. We have a teacher connection! She used to teach middle school English and that's what I currently teach. How cool is that? Cath and I both have two daughters and we both looooove cheesecake! {We must be soul sisters!} :) :)

3. I love getting comments from her for my Moxie Fab World contest entries. And did you know that I almost fainted when I got an email from her naming me as a Moxie Fabber of the Week? That was an honor for sure. And Cath's email to me was so super sweet.

4. I will surely miss popping over to the Moxie Fab World blog and seeing Cath's personality shine through in each post. She is the essence and heart of that blog. I will surely miss everything about it, especially her "Oh My Moxie Fab" posts. That was my go-to source to finding fun stuff. I used it more than Pinterest. Cath always featured stuff that made me SMILE!!!

5. Maybe after receiving my card in the mail, she will plan a trip to Texas to visit me. Hey Cath - we've got yummy barbecue and sweet tea too! :)

I hope you all will help us show Cath how much she will be missed. Be sure to visit all of the blogs in the hop to see each person's personal tribute.

Your next stop on the hop is Tracey McNeely's blog!

Hugs to you Cath!!! You will be missed!!!

My Crafty Weekend with Friends

Monday, October 28, 2013

Monday is here! It was a busy weekend for me. I'm just popping in today to show you a Fall-inspired card. I also wanted to share a couple of photos from our Saturday craft day.

My sweet co-worker Susana invited me over for a card making party that Tammy was hosting. We had so much fun crafting, talking, and eating yummy food. I can't wait to get together again with these ladies.

Here we all are showing off our cards!

This is some of the goodies that we snacked on during the event.

So...how was your weekend?
Did you all get crafty?

I Really Need to Focus on Christmas...but...

Thursday, October 24, 2013

Every year I promise myself the same thing!

I will get my Christmas cards done early!

This plan is not working out for me once again.

Sigh...

I live in a warm weather state, so it's really hard for me to create when there's still humidity in the air.

Spring is also my fave time of year!

Birdies and flowers are constantly on my brain!

More sighing...

Please send a cool breeze my way.

Perhaps that will get me back on track with my Christmas card making.

P.S. I used paper from  Imaginisce - "Endless Summer". {Isn't it ironic that I used paper with this title?} The sweet little birdie & the "friends" sticker are from their "Childhood Memories" collection. And the beautiful bloom is from Martha Stewart Crafts.
