Having Fun With Kraft!

Friday, November 4, 2011

I have really enjoyed my time Guest Designing for The Kraft Journal. Here's one more project that I wanted to share!

This time I made a card and tag set using kraft cardstock and tags from The Kraft Outlet.

I used a Martha Stewart border punch to add some decorative flair to my card. I also added texture by using twill ribbon, a metal heart, and paper roses.

I added even more texture to the tag by using alpha letters made of fabric. They come in a fun green color and are made by American Crafts. They are a part of the Amy Tangerine line of products.

Be sure to check back on my blog for a
Wonderful Announcement!

Also, I hope you all play with us at LESSology for Challenge #5: Jars of Cuteness challenge. Hop on over to the LESSology blog for inspiration.

Have a Happy Weekend!

The Kraft Journal - Anything Goes

Thursday, October 27, 2011

I am so happy to be back again this week to Guest Design with the talented team at The Kraft Journal

I loved this week's "Anything Goes" challenge. It allowed me to make mini baby books for several fellow teachers at my school who are expecting.

I used The Kraft Outlet's Kraft Mini Book Kit to make this project.

I added 10 pages to this mini album. Here are a couple of my favorites. I used baby themed chipboard and crochet lace trim to girly up each page.

Here's a full shot of my mini album. I tied crochet lace trim to the pre-made holes on the left side of the book. This keeps all of the pages together in a pretty way.

I hope to see you all play along this week!

The Kraft Journal - Bucket of Spooky Fun

Thursday, October 20, 2011

Today is Guest Design day at The Kraft Journal!

This week's challenge is:
"Spooky Stuff"

I dressed up a mini acrylic bucket using kraft cardstock from The Kraft Outlet. Their cardstock is durable and sturdy enough to use on your altered projects.

I also added fun Halloween stickers and orange gingham

Hop on over to The Kraft Journal to play along with us.

And be sure to order your kraft goodies from The Kraft Outlet.

Guest Designing - The Kraft Journal

Thursday, October 13, 2011

I am so happy & honored to Guest Design with The Kraft Journal this month. I'm such a BIG FAN of kraft products and this wonderful site.

Here are two new projects {made with products from The Kraft Outlet} for this week's "To Die Cut For" Challenge.

I used certain colors on my project after seeing the beautiful inspiration at the CR84FN color challenge.

My favorite Kraft Outlet products are the small glassine bags and the ruler twill ribbon. They are so fun to use on your projects.

I added Martha Stewart adhesive die cuts and metal keys to each of my glassine bags. I also used a large Prima bloom and The Kraft Outlet's small kraft shipping tags on my second glassine bag.

Please stop by The Kraft Journal today and check me out & leave some love. Also, don't forget to play along in the
"To Die Cut For" Challenge. You can link up {Here}.

Curling Paper!

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

I learned something new!

I went to Archiver's with Jen a while back and I keep forgetting to share this new technique that we learned.

Yep...I learned how to quill! {if you don't know what this is check out this site}. It's so much fun. Can you see the "little birdie" on my card? It was so hard getting his beak to stay in place.

And I'm also guesting at The Kraft Journal during the entire month of October. I hope you will stop by and check out the challenge this week. You can find the details {HERE}

I'll be back tomorrow with a fun new project featuring products from The Kraft Outlet.

See ya then!

Alter Somethin' Days - Cotton Bags

Monday, August 29, 2011

First let me say Happy Happy Birthday
to my oldest girl Rebekah!
Happy 20th. Love ya girlie! Rachel, Nana, Papa, Auntie Cokie and I are sending hugs all the way to California. She's having a great start to the semester. Yay! Here's my fave page with Bekah on it.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program!

I'm starting something new on my blog!

Introducing...

This will be a bi-weekly feature to show crafters
the  fun of making altered projects!

First up are Altered Cotton Bags!!!

These bags are so fun & easy to make. I filled each bag with sweet treats. You can also fill these with buttons to give to one of your crafty friends. :)

To make these:
1. Get yourself some small cotton bags. I ordered these from The Kraft Outlet

2. Add your favorite embellishment to the front. Chipboard is easy to use because it's sturdy and will stay in place. Use Glue Dots to make them pop-up.

3. Add a sweet sentiment - I used SRM stickers. Love these.

4. Add Twine at the top for a pop of color.

And I must give a shout out to Monika and her fabulous blog - I Love It All. Her designs are AMAZING. She sent me the YUMMY twine {from The Twinery} that I used on today's projects. She also sent me some of her adorable prints. Here's one that I used to make a card. I overlay the top of the print with a transparency from MME's Lime Twist collection. I'm going to frame it and sit it on my desk.

You gotta check out her Etsy shop too:

It's full of beautiful prints, mini books, journals, supplies, and more. I already have my sights set on several items to give as Christmas presents.

And another shout out goes to the sweet Virginia Lu. She sent me the fun SRM stickers that I used on today's project. Check out her fab blog too!

Hope you find inspiration from my new feature!
And if you love altered projects be sure to play along in our
 upcoming altered challenges at LESSology.
