DIY Burlap Gift Bags

Burlap always gets a thumbs up from me! It's such a great material to use when making your own DIY gift bags! They are just the right size and sturdy enough to hold just about anything.

I whipped up some bags this week using products from Xyron and pretty paper from Simple Stories.

And these fab burlap bags are from SRM Stickers!

Here are some  friendly tips when using the new Xyron Creative Station!

- It's great to use for adding adhesive to your doilies. Once you run it through, just remove the top film and add it to your project.

- The Xyron adhesive sticks well to strong material such as burlap and fabric too!

I always have the Xyron 3" Sticker Maker on hand! It's great to use with die cut elements that come with your paper pack!

And here is the paper that I used. The "So Fancy" collection is perfect for girly gift bags!

I love making pocket pages. They are so quick and easy to make if you've got the right products on hand!

Today I've got a fun one featuring my daughter Rachel. She is a new driver and I made a page celebrating this new accomplishment.

I used some great products from Xyron too! And the beautiful paper that I used is from the Simple Stories "So Fancy" collection!

Keep reading to see photos and a fun tutorial full of tips to help you use the new Xyron Creative Station and 3" Sticker Maker.

Here are some quick and easy tips to make your pocket pages:

Sometimes the contents of my pockets fall out. To prevent this I ran my doily through the Xyron Creative Station. The adhesive is great to help keep items secure when making pocket pages.

I also used Xyron's 3" Sticker Maker to dress up my doily a bit. This Simple Stories collection comes with loads of die cuts. I ran the "girl" die cut through, removed the film, and placed it on my doily.

I then added a sticker and placed it into one of the pockets.

I went on to use the Xyron 3" Sticker Maker to add adhesive to complete my pocket page. After I cut my paper down to fit into the pockets, they were run through the Xyron to add adhesive.

I also did this with more of the die cuts. You can even place two in at a time. This makes for quick and easy scrapbooking.

My Sweet Foodie Book

 

I'm such a foodie!

My ultimate faves are baked goods.

I cannot resist the wonderful smell of pies, cookies, cupcakes, or anything sweet baking in the oven.

Here's a new mini album that I made using some fun SRM Stickers.

 I got these mini pies from a local bakery for a family party.

I had so much fun photographing these yummies.

I hated to cut into them.

I used the Simple Stories - 24/Seven Collection. 

I also made my own handmade buttons using Epiphany Crafts tools.

This is My Mini Me!

It happens while we are shopping at Target!

 

It happens when we are getting goodies from Starbucks!

 

It happens just about everywhere!

 

People literally stop and say that Rachel is my "Mini-Me".

 

I just had to make a page about this because it happens so often. Our baby pictures even look almost identical. I guess everyone has a twin somewhere out in the world....right?

 

This fun page was created with mostly My Mind's Eye papers and Echo Park chipboard.

 

See the fun feathers? They are from American Crafts. The feather in the middle was created with WPlus 9's fanciful feather die. I got to use it last weekend at Vera's house.

 

See the round pink button? I made that one using the Epiphany Crafts round 25 tool.

 

 

I threw on "splashes" of sequins and used Simple Stories stickers for the title.

I'm playing along in the 1-2-3 Get Scrappy Challenge. I used three in elements from the middle row (circles, rhinestones, and a die cut).

The Faith Page

I'm really sticking to my plan of getting Rachel's scrapbook completed. Here's my latest page. The photo was taken on Easter at our church. I just love that cross. I had to get a photo of her sitting near it for her senior book.

I used the fun sketch from Creative Scrappers!

I used lots of My Mind's Eye Chalk Studio on this one. I also threw in some Simple Stories and Basic Grey too. I threw on some silver gems as well. I think they look really well against the black paper.

Play Date Cafe - Be Amazing Gift Bag

It's Thursday and time for the Play Date Cafe Challenge.

Here's the bright and cheery color story:

This week I made a fun gift bag full of art supplies for one of Rachel's friends. I added a Pink Paislee felt bloom, a Whisker Graphics bitty bag, and an Echo Park chipboard butterfly to the front. For an extra special touch, I even added markers that match this week's color story.

Target Crafty Mama

I've got a new nickname...

My daughter has given me the title:

"Target Crafty Mama"

Yep...I've been grabbing goodies from the Target Store dollar bin again. This time I grabbed this metal tin. It's great to use as a business card or gift card holder.

I decorated this entire project with Simple Stories "Fabulous Collection" paper and stickers. It's best to use stickers so that the metal case will close properly. I also measured the inside dimensions, then cut the striped paper to fit perfectly on the inside.

Add your gift card and you are ready to go.

{A friend of mine loves to go to the movies, so I gave her a Cinemark Theater gift card}.

The Target Dollar Bin!

Target is my second home!

I'm always in there...and the first place I stalk is the dollar bin! It's right in front of the store and holds lots of goodies that you can alter.

I found this mini pink felt bin the other day. I altered it to give to one of my crafty friends. She loves to stamp, so I got her some Stampin' Up ink. I think the gift looks much better in this bin instead of a box...right?

I decorated the front with a fun embellie that I made from canvas and some Simple Stories goodies.

I also made an extra tag that I will attach to a gift bag for another friend.

I have another Target dollar bin treasure that I will share with you soon!
