The Faith Page

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

I'm really sticking to my plan of getting Rachel's scrapbook completed. Here's my latest page. The photo was taken on Easter at our church. I just love that cross. I had to get a photo of her sitting near it for her senior book.

I used the fun sketch from Creative Scrappers!

I used lots of My Mind's Eye Chalk Studio on this one. I also threw in some Simple Stories and Basic Grey too. I threw on some silver gems as well. I think they look really well against the black paper.

Join me back here on Friday for a Blog Celebration for

Monday, August 26, 2013

It's our first day back at school today!

Since it's such a busy day I'm just popping in with a sweet and simple tag to show you.

I just love the jar image from this stamp set. I used The Craft's Meow's "Jar of Sunshine" for this one. I think it's a great little jar to use on tags for gifting!

And I also wanted to thank you guys for all of the sweet comments about my layouts. I'm really enjoying making them. I think I'm addicted to layering on my pages. :)

Stay tuned to the blog this week. Rachel starts her senior year today and I'll be making a page to celebrate her first day of school. :)

Have a happy Monday!!!

Say Hello to the Selfie

Friday, August 23, 2013

I was looking through family scrapbook albums and only found a couple of photos of myself in there. What???????

I am a part of the family? I think I deserve a page, or two, or three...right? (smile)

To solve this problem, I've started taking "selfies" of myself at least once of month. I hate taking photos. I'm usually the one behind the camera getting shots of everyone else. I think I can handle this as long as I create fun pages with the pictures.

I used a variety of fun products. The background paper and photo frame is from Basic Grey. I also used a lot of chipboard from My Mind's Eye.

I even typed up a bit of journaling. I'm trying to add more of it to my pages.

I did a lot of layering too. I think it makes the photo stand out more on the page.

Glitter thickers were a must on this page too. It makes the title pop off the page.

I'm entering this one into the Frosted Designs chipboard challenge and the Let's Get Sketchy week 3 challenge.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Basic Grey - Serenade  and Echo Park: Note To Self; Chipboard: My Mind's Eye: Cambridge Court and My Mind's Eye: Boy Crazy; Circle Element: Elle's Studio: Day to Day Tidbits; Glitter Thickers: American Crafts; Font: Champagne & Limousines

Girly Gifting with SRM Stickers

Thursday, August 22, 2013

I just love making gift card sets.

Instead of using these as birthday gifts, I've decided to add them to "college care packages" for my oldest daughter.

Rebekah is in college out in California and I like to surprise her with gift cards to her favorite restaurants. College kids love to get stuff like this in the mail. Plus you can dress up your gift wraps with some adorable SRM Stickers.

And check out my next gift card holder.

I added an SRM sticker to a popsicle stick and adhered it to an SRM Glassine Bag. It's a unique little embellishment that will add some fun to your gift wraps.

That's what I love about SRM stickers. You can adhere them to just about anything.

My fave girly sticker sets are the "Everyday Girl" and the "We've Got Your Sticker - Princess" sets. The colors are so feminine & fun!

Mr. Tristan

Sunday, August 18, 2013

Happy Sunday ya'll! I didn't blog much last week because I was attending teacher training, completing some classroom décor, and running around town taking Rachel shopping for back to school clothes.

I found some time to complete some fun layouts yesterday, and will be showing them to you this week.

Today's page is about my little nephew - "Mr. Tristan".
I found inspiration from Let's Get Sketchy.

I also used some Project Life - Baby Edition products!
I'm also linking this up to Paper Issues.

I used these fun letters from GCD Studios for the title.

The pretty blue woodgrain paper is from Fancy Pants Designs.
I'm so addicted to layouts lately!
Can't you tell?

You've Earned an A+

Monday, August 12, 2013

It's back to school time!

I actually have one more week off then we have to report back. I'm making loads of fun goodies for my students. I love to reward them when they do good on a test, read an extra book, or show respect to a fellow student.

Here's how I made it...

First, I stamped the "A+" using The Craft's Meow "Circle It" stamp set.

The notebook paper was made with Lil Inker Dies. I also used some goodies from SRM Stickers. I loaded some pencils into one of their tall clear boxes. I also used their "Say it with Stickers - Teacher" and "Express Yourself - School" stickers.

Stay tuned to the blog this week.
I've got more new projects to show ya!!!

The Summer Before Senior Year

Friday, August 9, 2013

I'm still on a roll! I've made tons of layouts this week. Here's another one featuring my youngest daughter.

Rachel is starting her senior year in a couple of weeks. This will be the first page in her graduation year scrapbook. I've got one page down and a million more to go...

I used paper and embellishments from Fancy Pants Designs "Memories Captured" collection.

I really love the flair & paper in this collection!

I'm entering this one in the Paper Secrets challenge!

Have a happy weekend!!!

The Storyteller in the Family

Monday, August 5, 2013

I truly believe that everyone has a special role in their family. My mom loves to share her love of cooking with us. My dad is the "entertainer" and always makes us smile. And so on and so on...

I believe that my role is the storyteller.

They look to me to take photos and document our special times together. Since no one in my family makes layouts, I've decided to start making more pages and scrapbooks for them.

First up is a page for my cute little nephew. He recently had his first photo shoot. I used the Paper Bakery sketch for this one.

Instead of using three photos, I used one as my focal point. To follow along with the sketch I used photo frames and "dressed them up" to add interest.

Here are some close up details. I used Basic Grey's "Hey You", "Hey Girl", and "Capture" goodies on this one.

I also loaded the page with plenty of chipboard, die cuts, and some crochet thread too.

I tore the paper to make it look a bit jagged and worn around Tristan's photo. I think it adds a bit of texture and makes the photo pop.

There's a stitched element to the page too. I used Basic Grey's garland and made my own handmade buttons using Epiphany Crafts 14 Round Tool.

I'm entering this one in the following challenges:
