If you've come from visiting the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog then you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, start here.
For our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, each Design Team member will be featuring a specific element related to using your Cricut. There will be a wide variety of techniques and elements that will be featured so make sure to check out each DT member's blog! There will be prizes along the way AND there will be a grand prize for the participant that incorporates the most featured elements on ONE project!!! How fun is that?
I'm also giving away a prize on my blog in conjunction with the blog hop. I'm giving away the Cricut Robotz Cartridge. There are so many cute images on this one. Keep reading for details on how to win.
The element I've chose to feature for the crawl is..."Die-Cut Flower Power". You can use any Cricut cartridge with flowers and circles to decorate your flowers. Here is a bundle of flowers that I cut using various patterned paper.
Next, put adhesive on one end of your accordion strip
Tape the two ends together to look like this.
Push it down and in towards the middle. Make sure that the hole in the middle of the flower is small. Hold your flower tightly in place because it will pop back up like the previous photo if you let it go.
With your Cricut - cut out a 2-1/4" cardstock circles and add adhesive to one.
Put the circle piece on top and hold it against the flower for at least 1 minute or until the adhesive dries enough to make a bond. Make sure the flower is even and round.
Flip your flower over and it should be tightly formed into a flower. Add any embellishment to the center.
I added the glitter embellishments I made to bling it up a bit.
Tada...here's my flower
Now it's your turn! See if you can make and use an "accordion flower" on a project. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Remember to incorporate an accordion flower along with the other Fantabulous Design Team elements listed on their blogs. Then be sure to enter your project with all of the elements included at Fantabulous Cricut to be eligible to win.
Your next stop is Brenda's blog, (Brenda's Scrappy Blog). Click here and go see what Brenda has in store for you today... And when you're done, make sure to link up your project to FCCB's Fantabulous Cricut Crawl post to be entered into the contest! Try to see how many elements you can add to your project!!!

Love the random flowers and your accordion flower! I too am IN LOVE with accordion flowers. Well, any handmade flower, but the accordion flower especially. I'd love to get my hands on that robots cartridge. I have an 8 year old son who would FLIP over the cuts! We made a cardboard and tinfoil robot a while back for a school project (posted somewhere in my blog I believe) and that would be the first thing I scrapped with this cart.
Love the flower. I'm now one of your blog followers. :) I LOVE this cartridge. I have a little baby boy and it's so hard to find boy scrappy stuff out there. This would be perfect and I could only think of the millions of ways to use it. Now off to blog about it. ;)
Hi Angi! Thanks for the challenge! I have never made an accordian flower, but thanks to your instructions I have now made two. I used one in my layout. You can find details on my blog (http://smallbitsofpaper.blogspot.com/2010/05/lady-lenore-layout-fantabulous-cricut.html). I just posted at Fantabulous Cricut as well.

I would love to have the robot cartridge to use to make cards for my brother and his friends(they just started a tour) in Afghanastan. Not many cartridges are made for boys/men and I think this one would be just perfect! My son is also serving in the Army and I have adopted about 10 of his buddies that I now send cards to. They just love them :)
