Christmas in July Santa Crafts

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

It's Christmas in July time! I've got a fun Santa project that I made with my Silhouette Cameo

I used the Santa Clause shape this time around. This one is so versatile. You can actually use it in two different ways – either as a table topper or party hat. Either way it is sure to be a hit at your next Christmas party!

Tip: When putting together projects like these, it’s best to use an adhesive cardstock. This type of cardstock makes it so easy to stick on pieces like the eyes, beard, Santa hat, etc. It saves a lot of time and you don’t have to add additional adhesive.

Have you started on any Christmas crafts yet?

You know that I love a good party box. I made this one after receiving a box of goodies from We R Memory Keepers. The Bakery Box is so fun especially if you use some colorful patterned paper!

You can also use this box in other ways! Check it out as a "thank you" gift! Just add some chocolate and you have the perfect little box.

And I do apologize for taking so long to post the winner from this recent giveaway! We have been so busy this summer! My daughter selected the winner for me!

Super Hero Party

Friday, July 18, 2014

I will be attending Comic Con in San Diego next week. This project is inspired by my love of comics and movies. I thought that this would be a great party idea for boys. There are just never enough “boy” projects out there.

I found several cut files that were perfect for this theme. This popcorn box was the perfect size. I also used the “Super Boy”“Super Hero”, and cupcake flags shapes.

The cupcake flags are very versatile. You can use them for other things besides cupcakes.

Also, I only used the head of the Super Boy for some of my embellishments for this project. After I re-sized it to my liking, I attached it to a lollipop stick.

Here are some tips for making this project:
  •  Size each piece. I sized to these measurements – (head – 1.624), (face – 1.827), (mask – 1.624)
  • Use primary colored cardstock to make the project more vibrant.
  • Be sure to change the cut and blade settings before cutting the corrugated paper.
I hope that you enjoyed my Super Hero party project!

A Silhouette Cameo Cookie Party

Wednesday, July 9, 2014

I love a good party, especially when there are sweet treats involved. Did you know that there are so many fun cut files that can be used for food containers? I found tons in the Silhouette Store.
My favorite was this chevron treat bag. You can dress them up so well with your favorite patterned paper too!
Here’s a close up shot. I also used the vellum to cut the Echo Park butterfly.

These bags are so versatile for parties. You can dress them up to fit a girly party as I did here or you can make them fit into your own personal party theme. I really like the chevron strip that comes along with this file. You can add just one or several to the front of your treat bag.

Vellum Tips:
  • Once your vellum is cut, gently remove the design from the cutting mat.
  • Use vellum adhesive to put the pieces together.
  • Use pop dots to when adhering your bows to the containers and chalkboard.

I hope you enjoyed my party project today!
