A New Journey with Scrapbooking From the Inside Out

Tuesday, November 26, 2013

I'm venturing into something new.

This one will allow me to focus on me.

I'm not just a mom.

I'm not just a teacher.

I'm more than a daughter.

I do more than exist.

I have hopes and dreams too.

It's about time that I share "me" with the world.

I hope that you will join me on a new journey with Scrapbooking From the Inside Out
I am joining their awesome design team!

As scrappers we never turn the camera on ourselves, we never make layouts just for us, and our focus is always on others. Well it's about time that we throw in a couple of "me" pages into the family album. I know for a fact that my family would love it.

The art of self reflection and journaling is new for me, but I am excited to take my scrapbooking to a whole new level.

Once the new term starts I will start making layouts for my brand new "Me Album". My first page mostly features goodies from Pink Paislee's - Hey Kid collection.

I will also feature how-to's to get you started on making pages and and album of your own. Journaling tips, self reflection, and "me" focus pages will also be shared.

We will have so much fun taking this journey together. I can't wait to get started.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the SFTIO website and blog. It's a wonderful place for inspirational scrapping. They also have a blog, kit club, and online community as well.

The "Wisdom" kit is on sale right now. Here's a peek at all of the wonderful products that are included. Be sure to check out the photo slide show of the entire kit here!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Layout supplies:

Having Fun with The Minions

Monday, November 25, 2013

Can you believe that I'm still working on my vacation album???

We took so many photos when we visited sunny California this past summer. I'm still not caught up. I'm making a couple of pages a week. I may have to resort to making Project Life pages for the rest of this album! (wink! wink!)

And check out the wording on my minion photo. I used the Rhonna Designs app on my phone. It printed out so well. I must do this more often!

Here are some close-up shots. I wanted to keep a fun and playful theme to the page. I used a lot of paper and goodies from Doodlebug Design. The other embellies are from American Crafts and Crate Paper's Maggie Holmes collection

I used the Inspired Blueprints sketch for this one.

{Love this fun sketch!}
Happy Monday!!!

The Sweet Caring Hearts Card Drive

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

My sweet crafty friend Vera Yates is once again hosting the Caring Hearts Card Drive. I hope you will go and check it out & join in. It's a great way to spread some holiday cheer this year!

I wanted to share two of the cards that I made. I added lots of fun elements to this one. The adorable Santa and patterned paper are from Doodlebug Design's Home For the Holidays collection.

I also added a glassine bag and a kraft tag to the design. The white doily and "joy" sentiment are from Heidi Swapp's Believe collection.

I used a fun sketch for my second card.

It's from Seize the Sketch

I used more Heidi Swapp goodies and added an adorable Santa embellie from Hobby Lobby.

How is your Christmas card making going?
I am actually getting mine done early this year!
{It's a miracle for sure - LOL}

It's Healthy & Fun!

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

I've got a fun party idea for ya today!

My neighbor is not crafty at all and asked if I would make some party favors for her daughter's party. I was more than happy to help her out. You all know that I love making party decor!!!

She wanted to have some healthy options to go alongside the sweet treats. Her daughter loves strawberries and M&M's. I decided to make a trio of fun decor for each girl that attended the party.

First up is this strawberry basket. I used Doodlebug Design's Happy Harvest paper & Lifestyle Crafts berry container die. I also added Doodlebug's Pixie Picks and Flags to some of the strawberries.

I also made a fun M&M Candy container using more Doodlebug Design goodies including their Petunia Doodlepops Flower. The clear box is from SRM Stickers. You can find them in the shop here.

And here's a close up shot of the M&M tube. The adorable little owl is also from Doodlebug Design. The fun tubes are from SRM Stickers. You can get them in a variety of sizes. They are perfect for parties.

I hope you all enjoyed the fun party today!

Ghiradelli Chocolate Pockets

Monday, November 18, 2013

What has pops of peppermint and is chocolate all over?

You guessed it - Ghiradelli Peppermint Bark Chocolate!

As soon as November rolls around, I rush to the store to grab some of these yummies. The peppermint bark flavor is my fave!

This time I bought extra and dressed them up with Heidi Swapp and Epiphany Crafts goodies. Both companies have teamed up this week and I'm so excited to show you what I've made.

I call them - "Ghiradelli Chocolate Pockets"

I made them with paper goodies from Heidi Swapp's "Believe" collection. I simply measured the length and width of the chocolate bar and scored each side to make the pocket.

The stars were made with Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Star 25 and Bubble Caps. The stars make the design more fun and festive for Christmas.

I also made some flat note cards for my Christmas table setting. It's fun to add white chocolate squares on top of these for your dinner guests. I added more Epiphany Crafts custom made stars too.

I hope you enjoyed my chocolaty sweet project!

Moxie Fab Thanks Blog Hop

Welcome to the Moxie Fab Thanks Blog Hop!

You should have arrived from Katie Gehring's blog!

Welcome to a very special blog hop for the Moxie Fab World's Cath Edvalson. She has been the wonderful Trends Editor over there. We all have gotten together today to show her how special she is to the paper crafting community.

And here is the card that I made for sweet Cath!

Here is my top 5 list of things that I want to share about Cath!

1. Why have I not met this fabulous woman yet? I hope that she will make an appearance at CHA sometime in 2014 so that I can meet her. (hint...hint...)

2. We have a teacher connection! She used to teach middle school English and that's what I currently teach. How cool is that? Cath and I both have two daughters and we both looooove cheesecake! {We must be soul sisters!} :) :)

3. I love getting comments from her for my Moxie Fab World contest entries. And did you know that I almost fainted when I got an email from her naming me as a Moxie Fabber of the Week? That was an honor for sure. And Cath's email to me was so super sweet.

4. I will surely miss popping over to the Moxie Fab World blog and seeing Cath's personality shine through in each post. She is the essence and heart of that blog. I will surely miss everything about it, especially her "Oh My Moxie Fab" posts. That was my go-to source to finding fun stuff. I used it more than Pinterest. Cath always featured stuff that made me SMILE!!!

5. Maybe after receiving my card in the mail, she will plan a trip to Texas to visit me. Hey Cath - we've got yummy barbecue and sweet tea too! :)

I hope you all will help us show Cath how much she will be missed. Be sure to visit all of the blogs in the hop to see each person's personal tribute.

Your next stop on the hop is Tracey McNeely's blog!

Hugs to you Cath!!! You will be missed!!!

The Inspiration Crew's Thanksgiving Hop!

Friday, November 8, 2013

Welcome to the Thanksgiving Inspiration blog event, brought to you by "The Inspiration Crew" . We’re just a group of online crafty friends who love being creative.

This time we're only doing a one day event to provide you with tons of fun inspiration. Keep reading to see who else is participating!

I recently made a similar project to this one, but changed the look a bit to fit the theme.

And who doesn't love popcorn right? Perhaps you can add these to the "kids table" during your family's Thanksgiving dinner. I used loads of paper and embellies from Imaginisce. The colors are so warm and festive.

Be sure to visit all of the blogs for loads of Thanksgiving craft ideas!

P.S. - I'm also linking this up at Paper Issues!

Thank you for hopping with us!

Dressing Up Some Soap

Have you ever found something awesome at a farmer's market?

I found these wonderful bars of goat's milk soap last month at my local market. They had a variety of scents and sizes to choose from. I quickly stocked up so that I could have some on hand for birthday gifting.

{This soap leaves your skin sooo soft too! Who knew that goat's milk could do that???}

I dressed up my soap in a fun way with SRM's Labels by the Dozen and Sticker Sentiment stickers. These products are so bright and colorful. It's a great way to dress up your gift packages.

Kraft paper and boxes look great with these stickers too. Adding a big beautiful felt bloom dresses it up even more. This bloom is from Martha Stewart Crafts.

Labels by the dozen come in a variety of themes. Be sure to check them out for all of your gifting needs.  You can find all of the label sticker designs HERE.

Have a Happy Weekend!

Nana Wants a Scrapbook Too!

Wednesday, November 6, 2013

I know that I've already used this photo on another layout but...

I've been a busy scrapper these days. Not only am I making my sister a scrapbook, but now I'm making my mom one too!

And they both have to be done by Christmas! Pray for me! {LOL}

This time I've used this photo of my cutie pie nephew in a different way.

Since his face is so happy on the photo, I used brightly colored Imaginisce goodies for this one. Their Childhood Memories and Endless Summer collection are my faves.

My question for you......

Do you ever use the same photo on several layouts????

My Hair is Blowing in the Wind!

Friday, November 1, 2013

It's not my favorite photo, but there is something about it that is real and natural for my "me" scrapbook.

It was a windy day! We were out at the lake so that I could get some photos of Rachel. After a while, she turned the camera on me and took some shots. I've been holding onto this photo for months until I found the perfect paper to use.

Here's how I put this page together...

I used loads of different products. I really love the background paper and banner. They are from the Glitz Design - Cashmere Dame collection. I also used some goodies from Allison Kreft's - Recorded collection. The butterfly was made with a Stampin' Up butterfly punch.

I'm a sketch kinda girl, so I used a fun one from Creative Scrappers.

They even had a great idea on their blog. Why not flip the sketch? That's what I ended up doing for this page.
Do you ever flip your sketches?
