Using Texture & Giveaway Winner

Saturday, October 8, 2011

I love using texture on my cards. I think it brings a unique look to the design. Today I have a new card for ya that features my fave kinds of textures.

I'm playing along in the Moxie Fab World - Textured to Perfection challenge. I'm also playing along at the Case Study Challenge blog. They are featuring a beautiful card made by Niki Estes. I "cased" her card and tried to emulate both the design and texture that she used.

Here's a close-up shot. Everytime I order crafty goodies I save the thin cardboard packaging. I used my Stampin Up! 1-3/4" scallop punch on the cardboard and added it to the back of the silhouette.

I added more texture by using a metal "thank you" sentiment piece. The metal is thin & lightweight. Right under the metal piece I added even more texture by using crochet lace trim from Really Reasonable Ribbon. The pretty paper I used is from My Little Shoebox.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. And before I leave I wanted to announce the winner of my Little Yellow Bicycle giveaway.

Love it! Love all the textures too! Good idea on saving the cardboard. I want to make a grunge book...maybe you could help me get started on one. Let me know so the next time we get together I can have the supplies that I would need. :) that's if you dont mind teaching me how to make one :). The kind like Heidi Swap makes. Not sure that is how you spell her last name. Talk to ya soon.
